Getting Started
How do I create an account?
You don't need to — Kyle creates your account automatically when you first open the app. No email, no password. You can optionally verify an email later for account recovery.
How do I connect my AI?
Go to Settings → Connect to AI in the Kyle app. Copy your MCP URL and paste it into your AI client. See our step-by-step setup instructions for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP clients.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI apps connect to external tools. Kyle uses MCP so your AI can read, create, and update your notes directly.
Using Kyle
What can my AI do with Kyle?
Your AI can create new notes, read existing notes, update content, search by keyword or topic, and manage tags. Just ask it in plain language — for example, 'Save this to Kyle' or 'Check my Kyle notes about the project.'
Can I prevent my AI from editing a note?
Yes — lock any note from the menu (⋯) in the note view. Locked notes can still be read by your AI but cannot be modified.
Does Kyle work offline?
Your notes are cached on your device. You can browse and read notes offline. Creating or editing notes requires a connection — changes sync when you're back online.
What markdown is supported?
Kyle supports full markdown: headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, code blocks, tables, task lists, blockquotes, links, images, and horizontal rules.
Account & Billing
What are the free plan limits?
The free plan includes 2 new notes per day and a 45 KB size limit per note. Existing notes are always readable and editable.
What does Kyle Pro include?
Kyle Pro increases your limits to 100 notes per day and 150 KB per note, and includes priority support. It's $4.99/month billed through the App Store.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Kyle Pro to manage or cancel.
How do I recover my account on a new device?
If you verified an email address, go to Settings → Recover Account and enter your email. We'll send a code to restore your account with a new MCP URL.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your notes and account data. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
My AI can't connect to Kyle
Make sure you copied the full MCP URL from Settings → Connect to AI (it includes your API key). The URL should start with https:// and contain ?api_key=. If it still doesn't work, try removing and re-adding the MCP server in your AI client. See setup instructions for your specific client.
My notes aren't syncing
Pull down on the notes list to force a refresh. If you're offline, notes will sync when your connection is restored. If the problem persists, check that your MCP URL is still valid in Settings.
I hit the daily create limit
The free plan allows 2 new notes per day. This resets at midnight UTC. You can still edit existing notes. Upgrade to Pro for 100 notes per day.
